REV. LOUIS R. LOTHMAN, TH. D.
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Louis R. Lothman has served as Director of Pastoral Counseling Services since 1996. He is licensed by the State of Florida as a Marriage and Family Therapist ( Lic. # MT 1294), is a Fellow in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors (AAPC), and is a Clinical Member in the American Association for Marital and Family Therapy (AAMFT). He is a Presbyterian minister, serving since ordination in 1977 in the Presbyterian Church, U.S.A. He received his B.A. from Duke University, Cum Laude, in 1972. He received his M. Div. degree in 1977 from Columbia Theological Seminary in Atlanta, and served in parishes and calls in Panama City Florida, and Atlanta from 1977 to 1985. In 1986, he accepted a call to move to Jacksonville and join Pastoral Counseling Services in the specialized ministry role of pastoral counselor and psychotherapist. Since then he has provided, and continues to provide spiritually sensitive counseling services to individuals, couples and families. In 1989, he completed his Th.D. in Pastoral Counseling at Columbia Theological Seminary, with his dissertation in the area of family systems theory, mourning and loss, and healthy personal and family functioning.
Dr. Lothman’ s areas of specialization include depression and anxiety, family, parenting and relational issues, spiritual issues and spiritual growth and recovery, grief, loss, and mourning.
Dr. Lothman has been married to his wife, Judy, for 32 years and has two grown children. He enjoys cycling, travel, reading and writing.
Christine Wright Oakley L.M.H.C.
Since 1996, Christine has provided therapy to individuals, families, and couples as a staff member of Pastoral Counseling Services. Christine also serves as the Director of Operations. Christine graduated summa cum laude from Jacksonville University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science in psychology. In 1995, Christine obtained a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from the University of North Florida. She is a clinical member of the American Mental Health Counselors Association.
Christine provides a supportive environment in which clients work on spiritual, personal and relational growth. Some of the services Christine provides are improving self-esteem, stress management, enhancing communication, women's issues, depression, anxiety, life transitions, and cognitive therapy. Christine is married and the proud mother of one son. She enjoys running, reading and spending time outdoors.
